Spain celebrates Navidad by holding "Nacimiento" (nativity scenes). Also the have big bonfires which they call "Hogueras", some people jump over the bonfires for protection against illness and good luck. Some of the navidad is spent at church, or at feasts singing and laughing altogether. You would never believe this but dinner in Spain is never eaten until after MIDNIGHT!! As the Spaniards say, "¡Esta noche es Noche Buena, y no es noche de dormir!" In English it means," This is Christmas Eve, therefore it is not meant for sleeping!!"
