Christmas is very important to Puerto Ricans. They get together with friends and family the same way we do. Also like us, they decorate their homes with Christmas lights and decorations and they put a tree up with presents underneath. Unlike us, the children wait until Midnight to open their presents. The people of the town all go caroling, but instead of just going out for an hour or so, they go out for hours at a time or all night, then get free breakfast at the last house they go to. This is called parrandas.
